I got married at a young age.  I knew how to cook well enough to follow some simple recipes, but that was it.  I had no skills in budgeting or putting it all together and I was states away from home without any help.  I just simply had to figure it all out.  I didn’t have extra money to make mistakes with, so if I didn’t figure it out we were going to go hungry.  That was 13 years ago and to make a long story short, I did manage to get it all worked out.  I worked it out so well, that people now ask me how they can save money on groceries.

When someone asks me, “How do I save money on groceries?” I wish I could give them a quick sound bite answer that would solve their problems.  However, saving money on groceries involves so much more than just a few hints or tips.  It really has to start with what your family likes to eat, what your budget is, and what your goals are.  We then build from there.  Unfortunately, I can’t have each one of you sit down with me at the kitchen table while we draw up a plan that is a custom fit for you and your family.  This book is the closest we can get to that.

If you are where I’ve been with trying to budget well, then you have looked at different information about how to save money on groceries.  Some of it was too complicated or took up too much time.  Other things you tried, but your family wouldn’t eat the food.  Some information you found even ended up costing you more than what you were already spending!  We’ve all been there.
